DOGS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN! .............  BIG DAY OUT 2015

Every man and his dog from Melbourne and beyond were at KCC Park on Sunday 13th December 2015 for DOGS Victoria’s annual Open Day “Big Day Out for Dogs and Canine Christmas Market”.
A fun filled day awaited families, dog owners and their furry friends with exciting canine sport demonstrations, dog shows , fun activities and a vast selection of dog products and services  just to name a few.  In the past the event has attracted approximately 3000 people, though no official numbers we can surely say we exceeded this number!
So many breeds, activities and attractions were featured for the public this year.  It is not possible to produce an event such as this without the tremendous contribution of our clubs, members and their dogs.  Nearly 50 breed stalls showcased breeds of all shapes and sizes from Basset Hound to Great Dane.  Everyone was enthralled with the displays of agility, obedience, dances with dogs, rally o, earthdog and conformation. Countless dogs were eager to run through the tunnels or chase the lure and dogs and their owners enjoyed the fun canine activities hosted by the clubs. We thank you all for your enthusiasm and hospitality shown to our visitors; you were fantastic ambassadors for your breeds and DOGS Victoria.
Browsers and shoppers flocked to the Canine Christmas Market with nearly 60 stalls of dog products and services. Many of the businesses said they were thrilled to meet and engage with so many of the dog loving public, and will definitely be back next year. Activities just for kids were popular with jumping castles and facepainting on offer.
The DOGS Victoria stand was again busy with many enquiries, and those picking up a showbag or entering our raffle with an incredible 30 prizes donated by the stallholders and organisations such as Luna Park and Eureka Skydeck. Dogs were vying for the title of happiest dog and best dressed in the DOGS Victoria fun competition; though the competition was fierce no one left the ring disappointed.
Advertising was placed in magazines such as Royal Auto and local newspapers, the Frankston Leader and Berwick Leader featured articles leading up to the event.  Local radio station 3BBR-FM interviewed Lyndall and thanks to Jane Harvey who promoted the event on her radio program at 96.5 Inner FM. The event was also listed on various online event websites such as  WeekendNotes, and the Big Out Day Facebook page was a hit; thank you for your likes, shares, invites and posts.
“Thank you to the Big Day Out - my partner and my three dogs enjoyed it immensely. My eight month old puppy got to meet a whole range of other dogs... Can't wait until next year... Thank you”
