Logging in to the member’s section
To log in to the website, click on the Members Area tab at the top of the page, or the Member’s box on the home page.
This will take you to a page requesting your user name and password. Your user name is your membership number.
If you have not already been issued a password, please email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org and be sure to include your full name and membership number.
If you have been issued a password but cannot remember it, use the “Forgot password?” function on the log in page to have a new password emailed to you.
How do I know if I have logged in successfully?
If you enter an incorrect user name and password combination, you will immediately receive an error message stating that the system was unable to log you in.
If you are redirected to the Members Latest News or About Us section of the website, then you have been successfully logged in. You can double check this by scrolling down to the bottom of the page. Your name should appear next to an option to log out. This confirms that you are logged in.
Changing your password
After you log in to the members area of www.dogsvictoria.org.au with your office-issued password you can change the password to something that is easier to remember. Simply click on the “change password” link at the bottom of the screen next to your name.
Please ensure you make a note of your new password as DOGS Victoria is unable to retrieve it for you once it has been changed. If you lose your changed password a new one will need to be issued.
The Members Area
There are five tabs across the top of the page: About Us, Get Involved, Puppies & Dogs, Members Area, and Contact Us. If you are not logged in to the system and put your mouse arrow over the Members Area tab, a limited number of options will appear. Once you are logged in, a longer menu will appear.
In response to member and club enquiries, NO LOGIN IS REQUIRED to access members forms, affiliate forms, judges lists and entry forms. Schedules can also be accessed under About Us > What’s Happening without logging in.
However, LOGIN IS REQUIRED to access the full Gazette, the latest issue of the magazine and the Members News sections as well as specific staff and committee contact details. (Staff details can also be found on the last page of each magazine).
ANKC E-Commerce Site
There is also a link to the ANKC online services and instructions for accessing that website to renew your membership or register a litter online. As this site is run by the ANKC and not DOGS Victoria, a separate process is required to log on. Please read the instructions carefully before proceeding to that website.
Personalising your profile
After you click “Edit Profile” as per the instructions above you will see that there are several different options of ways you can update and personalise your online profile. Note: this is only for your own use; no one else will see your profile
. This is NOT attached to your breeder listing.
Click “Manage User Credentials” to update the name displayed at the bottom of the screen when you log in.
Enter your preferred name in the “Display Name” field and click “Update” to save the changes. Now this name will appear when you sign in. You will not be able to change this unless you have entered a valid email address in that field. A valid email address will also be required should you need to have your password reset using the “Forgot Password?” link on the login page.
Updating your breeder listing
If you have not already done so, submit the Breeders Directory form to the office to have your breeder listing set up. This form can be downloaded from the website in the Members Forms section (under Litter & Breeder Forms). Your breeder listing will be attached to your membership so you will be able to access both your profile and breeder listing by logging in with a single membership number and password.
Once you log in, as described above, you can update your breeder contact information and indicate if you have puppies available or not by doing the following:
· Click on “Puppies and Dogs”
· Click “Edit Breeders Directory” at the bottom of the screen
· Click the “>” arrow next to the name of the breed
· Click the pencil icon next to your prefix
· Click “Yes” or “No” next to “Puppies Available?”
· Update any contact details if necessary
· Click “Save Changes”
You can then return to “Puppies and Dogs” as detailed above to check that the changes have been published.
If you are having difficulties navigating the new website or require a password to log in please contact Janet Davidson on email@example.com with your membership number and a password will be issued to you via email.
