Vompaco

Vompaco German Shepherds is a small working-line German Shepherd kennel based in Victoria, founded by Matt Elphick.

The name Vompaco honours Paco, Matt’s first German Shepherd, who began a lifelong passion for the breed and a journey into dog training, behaviour and dog sport through The German Shepherd K9 Training.

Our breeding philosophy is focused on preserving the German Shepherd as a versatile working dog, true to breed type and the breed standard. We value strong nerves, self-confidence, balanced temperament, environmental stability, trainability and genuine working ability, together with sound health and functional construction.

Breeding decisions consider the complete dog — temperament, health, hips and elbows, structure, pedigree and working characteristics — with dog sport and training used to help demonstrate the qualities important to the breed.

Our aim is to produce healthy, confident and well-balanced German Shepherds capable of being valued family companions while retaining the character, resilience and working ability expected of the breed.
