SprintDog™

SprintDog™  is one of the fastest-growing canine sports, designed to give dogs a safe and exciting outlet to chase at speed. Based on the principles of lure coursing, SprintDog™ involves a straight track where a mechanical lure is used to simulate prey, encouraging dogs to run at full speed. Unlike traditional lure coursing, which often involves complex courses and turns, SprintDog™  focuses on short, high-intensity sprints that highlight a dog’s natural drive and athletic ability.

One of the key strengths of SprintDog™ is its accessibility. Dogs of all breeds, sizes, and experience levels can participate, making it an inclusive sport for both seasoned competitors and newcomers. Handlers also find it easy to get involved, with clear roles such as time keeper, catching pen steward, gate steward etc ensuring events run smoothly and safely.

Safety is a major focus, with strict rules around track setup, equipment, and dog handling to minimise risk. Events are run under organisations such as Dogs Victoria and follow ANKC guidelines, ensuring consistency and fairness.
