The Register & Registration Clause 9.13 - correction to the order the varieties of Dachshund appear in the regulations

The National Breed Standards Coordination Group has confirmed Regulations Part 6 – The Register & Registration Clause 9.13 requires correction to the order the varieties of Dachshund appear in the regulations.  Please note below:

Currently reads:

9.13    Dachshund Standard (Long Haired); Dachshund Miniature (Long Haired); Dachshund Rabbit (Long Haired ); Dachshund Standard (Smooth Haired); Dachshund Miniature (Smooth Haired); Dachshund Rabbit (Smooth Haired); Dachshund Standard (Wire Haired); Dachshund Miniature (Wire Haired); Dachshund Rabbit (Wire Haired) (Amended 01/21) (Amended 02/22)

  1. All Judged separately with each variety receiving separate Challenge Certificates.
  2. Inter variety breeding is NOT approved.
  3. Reclassification of size type NOT permitted.
  4. Reclassification on coat type between size same types is permitted.

 Amended to:

Approval Of 2025 National Show - Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Of WA

We are pleased to advise the approval of the application received from the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of Western Australia to conduct the 2025 National Show on the 8 & 9 October 2025 at the Dogs West Grounds, 602 Warton Road, Southern River, Western Australia.

Approval of 2025 National Retrieving Trial Application

We are pleased to advise the approval of the application received from Dogs NSW to conduct the 2025 National Retrieving Trial in September 2025 in the Hunter Valley.  Dogs NSW will arrange to confirm the dates in order for this information to be distributed to all Member Bodies.

Please note the provisional breeds listing has been updated to show the breeds not eligible for CACIB as referenced in Regulations Part 5 – Conformation Shows Clause 9.6 – refer extract below.

9.6     Unclassified - Breeds not recognized by the FCI (Not eligible for CACIB) (Amended 02/23, 5.11 – Effective 01/07/23)

9.6.1    Breeds not definitively recognised by the FCI may be awarded an Australian Challenge (Best of Breed). A schedule of these breeds will be maintained on the Dogs Australia Website. (Amended 02/23, 5.11 – Effective 01/07/23)

Ramp/Table/Ground Breed Listing - UPDATED

After consultation with the National Breed Standards Coordination Group, please find attached the updated Ramp/Table/Ground breed listing as referenced in Regulations Part 5 – Conformation Shows Clause 2.7.  The following FCI recognised breeds have been added:

Group 4 – Porcelaine. Ground or Ramp

Group 5 – Mudi – Ramp or Table

Group 6 – Yugoslavian Shepherd Dog (Sharplanina) - Ground

Approval of 2025 National Herding Trials

We are pleased to confirm the approval of the Canine Performance Association of Tasmania application received via Dogs Tasmania to conduct the 2025 National Herding Trials on 10 to 16 November 2025 at Oatlands, Southern Midlands, Tasmania.

Approval of 2025 Utility Gundog Field Trials

We are pleased to confirm the approval of the Dogs Victoria application to conduct the 2025 National Utility Gundog Field Trials in June 2025.  Dogs Victoria will arrange to confirm the date and location in March/April 2025 in order for this information to be distributed to all Member Bodies.
